My second and third grade students have been preparing for nearly two months to perform in our spring concert titled “Sing for Peace.” It is inspired by Earth Day and has themes of nature, recycling, peace, and so much more. All of our songs for this concert came from MusicPlayOnline, many from their “One Planet” program. Some are originals by Denise Gagné herself, others by Craig Cassils, Cheryl Heuser, and Nyágai Istavan, and some that are traditional folk songs.

I’ve also collaborated with my school’s art teacher to have a beautiful visual to match our music. I hope to share pictures as soon as it’s ready! I’m having students complete Earth Day coloring sheets to hang around the gymnasium as well.

I am so excited for this program, and I can’t wait to share how it goes.
